Message summary: ...high stream flows possible through next week...
A couple storm systems will bring more valley rain and mountain snow today...then again over the weekend. Rivers creeks and streams are already running strong and the extra rainfall may cause some creeks running off the mountains to exceed bank-full. Lamoille creek...martin creek...salmon falls creek...and the bruneau river are four sites that bear watching as they respond more rapidly to excessive snow-melt this time of year. There are also numerous small channels originating in the mountains that may cause flooding issues or soggy roadways. If traveling in the back- country this week or early next week...be aware that some dirt or gravel roadways may become impassable at times. As water from streams makes its way into the humboldt river...there may also be some high flows experienced along the humboldt river from battle mountain to winnemucca in early may. No flooding is forecast for the humboldt at this time.
